Friday Fiesta Feature – Teresa Noelle Roberts

teresaWelcome to the Friday Fiesta! It has been a while since I have had the pleasure of hosting an author on my blog but when the opportunity came up to host Teresa Noelle Roberts, I couldn’t say no. Her new book, Witches’ Waves, is one that I personally pre-ordered and greatly look forward to reading. (Maybe this weekend!) I hope you will enjoy learning a little more about this very talented author.

About Teresa:

Teresa Noelle Roberts started writing stories in kindergarten and she hasn’t stopped yet. A prolific author of short erotica, she’s also a published poet and fantasy writer—but hot paranormals and BDSM-spiced contemporaries are her favorites. At least they were until she discovered that SF romance offers new possibilities for wild sex, imaginative adventure and love beyond boundaries, so she’s added that sub-genre to her repertoire. Oh, and she’s also half of the writing team known as Sophie Mouette, writing mostly light-hearted spicy romances (with occasional forays into erotica).

Teresa is a crunchy granola girl who enjoys belly dance, yoga, medieval re-creation, playing in the ocean, cooking, and growing more vegetables than she and her husband can possibly eat. She’d enjoy sleeping, too. She thinks. But it takes so much time!

She shares her home in southern Massachusetts with her husband, a Leo in law enforcement, and two overstuffed cats. She and her husband often plan vacations around food, history, and/or proximity to water.

The Interview:

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I started dictating little stories and poems to my mom when I was still working on the whole holding-a-pencil thing. I started submitting for publication when I was about eight and asked for a subscription to Writers’ Digest for my twelfth birthday. So…pretty much forever.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I’m most productive when my husband is in the room with me, gaming on his laptop. The room of one’s own thing doesn’t work for me.

Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?

I prefer sunsets because if I’m up to see sunrise, it’s too darn early! That said, I’ve deliberately gone to the beach to see sunrise while on vacation and it’s lovely in its own right. But sunsets seem more vibrant and brightly hued. This may be because I’m actually awake for sunset.

Name one actor/actress you would love to get naughty with?

If I have to limit it to only one—I’m a greedy creature and my fantasy list is long—I’ll go with Tom Hiddleston (aka Loki). Those cheekbones. Those intelligent, wicked eyes. That body. That yummy voice. The conviction with which he can tell an entire plazaful of people to kneel… and they do it. (OK, I know they all kneeled because it was in the script, but I’d be on my knees in an instant. Wouldn’t you?) Besides, I have to mention him here because he’s one of my visual inspirations for Kyle.

If you’re curious, Deck looks like a surfer-dude Chris Hemsworth, who is also on my fantasy boyfriend list, and Meaghan’s a more fragile version of a young Nicole Kidman. I don’t actively lust after Nicole, but I respect her talent and appreciate her beauty on an artistic level… so if in some crazy alternate universe she wanted to play with me, I’d be tempted.

You know, I never thought of Tom Hiddleston that way but now that you mention it… yum! 😉

Now I’m even more eager to jump into Witches’ Waves, and I bet if you’re reading this, you are ready to learn more about the book, too. Good! Because Teresa is happy to share…

teresa noelle roberts witches wavesThe Blurb:

Witches’ Waves (Duals and Donovans: The Different 4)

The ocean is on their side. But the fight is on land—and it’s about to get dirty.
Duals and Donovans: The Different, Book 4
Long held captive as the Agency’s secret weapon—a blind witch with visions—Meaghan has come to a line she refuses to cross. Rather than betray the infant “child of five bloods” to the Agency’s scientists, she chooses death. Except when she throws herself into the ocean, she doesn’t die. Her repressed water magic comes to life.
When the sodden, delirious witch drifts into Kyle’s arms, his otter dual instincts tell him to get her to the Donovans as fast as possible. Even though one particular surfer-dude Donovan broke his heart.
Declan Donovan continually kicks himself for pushing Kyle away, but his touchy combination of water, earth and lightning magic is too volatile, and Kyle wanted more than Deck was ready to give.
When they come together to help Meaghan control her new magic, it leads the Agency straight to the child of five bloods. They’ll have to dive head-first into total trust—in their magics, in themselves and in each other—to save the child and stop the Agency once and for all.

Warning: Contains an oceanful of sex between an ethereal blind heroine who swears like a pissed-off Marine, an overly serious otter shifter, a would-be beach bum who may be descended from a Norse god, in permutations as fluid as the sea – and themes of abuse and recovery.

The Series Blurb:

Welcome to an America where the non-human Different and magically gifted humans live among ordinary people. Witches are both feared and honored, but shape-shifting duals are treated as second-class citizens. The Agency, a government agency that’s supposed to monitor illegal uses of magic and Different abilities, has developed its own dangerous agenda. But when Duals and witches join forces, the Agency and other bad guys aren’t going to know what hit them.
And neither are the witches and Duals. Witch magic grows from the positive energy of love and sex–and the only thing better than one dual for sex magic is two of them!

(A first-kiss scenario with a few twists. Meaghan has just announced she’s dying but plans to go out with a bang to save Deck’s niece from the Agency, which is taking an unhealthy interest in the infant witch/shapeshifter hybrid. And of course Deck and Kyle are on-again, off-again lovers. )

In an attempt to hide his agitation, Deck turned Meaghan around in Kyle’s arms and kissed her. Kyle’s arms stayed wrapped around her, supporting her, and he could feel Kyle’s dual heat, Kyle’s desire for him—no, for both of them, just as he’d suspected—despite the difficulty of the moment.
He tried to make it a gentle, reassuring kiss, but once he tasted Meaghan’s sweet lips, the cool, oceanic waves of her power and the warmth of her unexpected desire on his skin, it was damn hard not to take it further.
His magic had its own ideas about Meaghan. Though Deck’s healing abilities were limited, the human body contained so much water he could tell if something was seriously wrong with someone. And Meaghan didn’t feel dangerously ill. Her energy seemed off-kilter, but for all he knew, simply being blind might make her energy different from most people’s because she processed information differently. Meaghan tasted of intense but friendly water magic, something else familiar and strong and a little scary, and she wrapped her arms around him and kissed back, pressing her body against him. Her aura embraced him as hard as her slender arms could not. When he looked at her with witch-sight, she didn’t look fragile at all. Like Elissa, she was petite, but she packed a lot of magic and will into a small body.
Common sense and the sexual decency that every Donovan learned from an early age—a necessity when red magic, and thus the ability to seduce even without meaning to, ran in the family—kicked in. She’d been abused magically and physically; she might have been sexually abused as well. And she’d just told him she was dying. Even if he wasn’t sure the diagnosis was correct, she believed it, and it was rude to turn a gesture of comfort into one of possessiveness and lust. He pulled away, almost apologized, but decided that would be rude in itself since she’d shown every sign of enjoying the kiss. “I hope that was all right,” he said instead, surprised by how hesitant and humble his voice sounded. It wasn’t his usual style, but Meaghan threw him for a loop.
Meaghan didn’t say anything at first, but she looked up at him with huge, unseeing green eyes—it was uncanny the way she met his gaze even though she couldn’t see him, and he was pretty used to uncanny. She was smiling, her oversized aura peaceful and happy.
And heavily streaked with arousal.
Finally she spoke, and when she did, her voice was husky and amused. “All right? That was more than all right. I’m sick, but I’m not dead yet. Even my hair’s all tingly and happy. But you should kiss Kyle too. It’s only fair.”
Deck had a feeling his mouth was hanging open like an idiot.
It gaped even more when Kyle quipped, “Don’t you know about all’s fair in love and war?” He changed position, using his otter’s lithe grace, and closed his mouth over Meaghan’s.
For the first time, Deck fully understood what Kyle meant about otters always being either dominant or submissive, never just having a vanilla good time. Kyle crushed Meaghan to him, one hand gripping the hair at the back of her neck and pulling her face up to meet his, the other grasping her ass. “You’re not going to die,” Kyle whispered fiercely. “I won’t allow it.” And then he kissed Meaghan as if he could breathe his own life energy into her body with the power of his kiss. As if he were practicing his own form of red magic and hoped to heal with it.
Which would be an impressive trick. Duals with magical abilities were so rare they weren’t even a statistical blip, but in that moment, Deck could believe Kyle could do magic by sheer force of will, like a sorcerer, using a dual’s innate stubbornness and gift for imagery rather than a sorcerer’s web of words. He just hoped Kyle wouldn’t accidentally injure Meaghan. Deck loved Kyle’s intense physicality but a petite, sick woman might find it hard to take.
Deck poised to intervene if necessary, but Meaghan moaned and curved her body to meet Kyle’s, melding to Kyle as sweetly and willingly as she had to him. The red streaks in her aura flared even brighter.
Deck was a little envious of the response, but also of Kyle’s passion that had provoked it. If Deck had a sexually submissive streak, he’d never found it, but he was a sucker for a touch of rough possessiveness. A kiss like that one would definitely get him going, even if it ended with him wrestling Kyle into a playful submission they’d both enjoy.
Now that was a hot thought.
And once they’d taken the edge off with each other, they could turn their attention to Meaghan. That way, they might both be able to hold back enough to pleasure her without leaving the wrong kind of marks, either physical or psychological. Neither Meaghan’s illness nor her dark past seemed to hamper her ability to experience pleasure, but they’d have to be careful with her. More gentle than either of them were inclined to be by nature.
No. It was wrong to think about a kinky threesome with someone who might be dying.
At the moment he couldn’t remember why it was wrong. Meaghan deserved to have some fun, given that her life had been sucktastic so far and might be short. He might be all kinds of a fuckup, but his lovers had never complained about his abilities in bed. His reliability outside the bedroom, sure, but not his sexual prowess. And Kyle was a wild ride. But it still seemed to go against Donovan ethics to hit on a dying woman.

Friday Fiesta Author Feature – Paige Matthews

Paige MatthewsWelcome to my Friday Fiesta Author Feature! Today I have the pleasure of introducing Paige Matthews, author of the new novel Dominate Me. Paige has agreed to sit down and tell us a little about who she is and also to share a snippet from her tempting new book.

About Paige:

I grew up in a small, idyllic affluent town in the Western part of Connecticut, USA. The town definitely did not match my personality. My high school years were filled with the proverbial teenage fun, although not too much by me. I stayed close to home and pursued my B.A. in English Comparative Literature from a local college and then continued on for my M.A in English Professional Writing. I have always had a love for reading and literature and only furthered that during my studies. During my M.A. studies I decided it was time to challenge myself and work in a field that I have long admired and dreamt off: being a writer.
Having entered the lifestyle a few years ago, I write erotica with a preference toward BDSM themes. I enjoy exploring the emotional connection and emotions behind the D/s relationships and why we like what we like.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve always loved literature and books, both contemporary and classic. I don’t know if there was a set time in my life that I knew I wanted to be a writer- it just happened. I started a contemporary romance for my thesis project and then decided to participate in NaNoWriMo-six months later I had my first novel published.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I am spastic about writing. I don’t have a set schedule. Some days I write 1,000 words, but then there are weeks I can crank out 30,000. I also have to set a song as the main focus of the book, not necessarily in the book, but at least in my head. 🙂

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a lawyer, a teacher, a forensic psychologist, a journalist. I wanted to be everything. I hold a Master’s degree in writing, yet I am a nurse. Go figure!

If aliens landed in front of you and, in exchange for anything you desire, offered you any position on their planet, what would you want?

I’m as simple as they come so I would want my kids to be happy, healthy and successful. No extravagant riches for me.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

As much as people laugh at me, I’d like to be able to read minds. I’m always fascinated by the ways people think and the reasons why?

margarita01dominate meDominate Me is certainly a yummy looking book and I can’t wait to read it!

The Blurb:

Devlin Fitzpatrick is a man of few words. Usually. An expert in surveillance and security, and a Dominant at Devoured, Devlin is known for his authoritative ways. After making the decision to observe rather than participate, and hiding from feelings and desires only few know about, Devlin throws himself into his work, and away from the practice of the lifestyle – that is, until he meets Ally. A chance encounter sets a new fire burning inside of Devlin – one that, up until then, has been absent. But, just as their relationship flares, a face from Devlin’s past returns, re-igniting long-subdued desires.
Ally O’Conner was not looking for a man – especially one like Devlin. Yet, the mysterious, gorgeous, and dominant stranger becomes the one person Ally didn’t know she was seeking. As Devlin opens Ally’s world up to hidden emotions and uncharted desires, Ally quickly finds herself falling, even though she knows Devlin is hiding something from her: desires or needs she is unsure of. When a stranger calls, looking for Devlin’s help, Ally begins to fear the worst as he begins to pull away.
Aiden MacCarrick has spent the last few years bouncing from place to place – drumming up work wherever he can. After a job gone wrong, Aiden finds himself on the wrong side of the bullet. With no other choice, Aiden reaches out to the one person he knows can help him.
As Devlin works to clear Aiden of a misunderstanding, and save his life in the process, the three of them are entwined in a foreign world of deep desires, unbidden wants and uncharted feelings. Can they find a happy resolution to their desperate situation, or will their emotions dominate them?

The Excerpt:

“Sometimes I really just want to tell him to fuck off,” I screamed as I slammed my phone on the back counter of the bakery. I had gone there after leaving Devlin’s office this afternoon, not wanting to be alone. I knew Emma was working on a huge order and Nikki was helping out as well.
“What happened?” Emma asked without losing her focus on the cake she was decorating.
“I don’t know. I told you about what he said last week at the diner, you know about being exclusive. Then he goes and gets all weird. Mysterious phone calls, things he won’t tell me. He just seems off.” I fidgeted with a piece of paper that was on the counter.
“Well, baby cakes, you have to let him be him. Marcus said he is a very guarded person. You should know that. You’ve been with him for a while now.” Emma answered, again without taking her attention away from the project.
“I get that, but still. If he wants to be exclusive-be in a relationship-why can’t he just tell me things. I’m not going anywhere.” I continued to play with the scrap piece of paper.
“Again, Devlin has a past that most of us, including Marcus, doesn’t know about. Give him time Ally. It might be for a reason.”
“Are you going to go to the club tonight?” I asked her as Nikki walked into the kitchen.
“Why the fuck is Devlin going to London tomorrow? And why is he taking Kieran with him?”
I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk. I just stared at Nikki as she made her way toward me. “I don’t know what you are talking about?”
“Are you sure? He is your boyfriend?” She grabbed a tray of pastries from behind me and began filling the shells.
“Yeah, Nik, I am sure. I can’t believe this. Why wouldn’t he say something to me earlier?” I looked at Emma who now had stopped the decoration process on the cake to look at me. “Oh my god. I’m a fucking idiot. No wonder he wanted to meet at the club tonight. Tell me on neutral ground.” I hit my forehead with my palm, fighting the tears that were forming in the corners of my eyes.
Emma’s arms encircle my chest. “You don’t know that. Give him a chance to explain.”
“Fuck him and fuck this relationship. I am not going to start a relationship off with secrets and lies.” I picked up my phone and rattled off a text message to him. FUCK YOU! I am done. Thanks for telling me about London today.
“I’m going home and no you will not get a hold of me. I turned my phone off and I will not answer it.” I said as I gathered my purse before I completely losing my composure.

Friday Fiesta Author Feature – Charlie Hadley

CharlieHadleyWelcome to my second Friday Fiesta Author Feature on the blog! This week I have the pleasure of sitting down with Charlie Hadley to learn a little more about what she likes to write. Charlie is in the  beginning stages of her first erotic novel which she hopes to make available by the end of this year. Click on her links to connect on social media if you want to be one of the first to know about the new release!

About Charlie:

Hi! I’m Charlie.

I’ve been writing non-erotic fiction, children’s stories, and blogging for about five years now, under a different pen name.

I sent my first erotic fiction story into the You…Only Wetter short story competition after being dared by a friend and I won! Since then I have posted some more stories with them. Check them out here.

Due to winning that competition, I created a blog as an outlet for my erotic fiction writing. I also like to share articles and things I find of interest.

I post work on Literotica as Charley_Hadley and have Facebook and Twitter.

I’ve joined an erotic fiction writers group and we are working on bringing out a book later in the year of our collected stories.

Two of my stories have been picked to appear in a new erotic fiction podcast due to go live in August.

The people in my stories are loosely based on physical/personal characteristics of the people I am attracted to  but I mix them up so that they are never all about one person. Everything else is pure imagination, honest. 😉

I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy writing it! 🙂 xx

borderTime for Charlie to take the sombrero and tell us a little more about who she is…

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

I would say the thing that challenges me the most is keeping variety in the scenes I am describing. I don’t want to keep using the same actions and characters and find my stories become samey and boring.

I want to try and appeal to as many people’s tastes as I can which is why I often leave the physical description vague to allow the reader to imagine their own characters. But at the same time I want to include enough description for it to feel real to the reader.

I like to think I help fire up their imagination and allow them to explore some of their fantasies.

While you were writing, did you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?

It’s strange that when I am writing I can feel most of the actions as if they are happening to me. It’s as if I’m watching a movie of the action in my mind, I hear the voices and write out what I see.

It all seems to channel through me as it happens and when I’m in the moment it all feels very real to me. It’s only when I run out of steam writing and sit back to edit I actually realize what I wrote and sometimes I wonder where it all comes from!

What song do you play the most on your iPod?

A quick check on iTunes tells me my most played song is… dun dun dun… Alone by Heart. I was an 80’s child, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it 😉 It is tied with Frontier City by Kings of Leon which is way cooler.

If you had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Do you have a cherished childhood toy?

I’m very sentimental. I have lots of cherished childhood toys and memories. My first teddy, doll, rattle, my toy car collection, I can’t part with any of them.

(Hey, me too! 😉

An Excerpt from Movie Night by Charlie Hadley:

One night I got a bit tipsy and when I went to stand up I fell in his lap. He kissed my nose and called me ‘silly’ but something between us changed. Instead of helping me up he tilted my chin and pulled me into him for a kiss.

I buried my hands in his thick dark hair as the stubble from his beard tickled my chin and we kissed deeply. I’d begun to wonder what it would be like to kiss him. His lips always looked so inviting. He tasted like heaven. The more I gave myself to the kiss the more I hoped it would never end. He opened his eyes and came up for air, taking a deep breath and smiling at me with his boyish grin.

I saw his big hazel eyes up close for the first time, I could get lost in those eyes. I was certain I’d never see such beautiful eyes again, especially with such a deep desire staring back at me.

I rested my head on his shoulder, dizzy from excitement as I breathed in the sweet smell of him. The faint smell of sweat, stale aftershave, hair products and something I couldn’t put my finger on but knew I would never smell again.

He began to trace the outline of my breasts through my t-shirt with his finger. I ached for him to hold me and touch me.

I wanted all of him to cover all of me. I wanted his tanned skin to smother my pale skin so our bodies would merge into a moving artwork of colour.

What a tempting treat! Be sure to hop over to FACEBOOK and TWITTER to follow Charlie’s work and keep up with her latest on her BLOG or WEBSITE!
