Welcome to WIP Wednesday, a blog hop hosted by Melody Parks, in which several romance authors come together to share snippets of their current work-in-progress or recently published works. I’ve been working on something a little different for me but so far, I like it. Here’s a quick taste of it. I hope you will share your thoughts – let me know what you think?
“Meg,” he whispered wondering if she’d already fallen back asleep. He was a little confused. Meg had been the one to insist on sleeping on the couch that night.
He put his arm out to touch her and he felt her body tense.
“Megan,” he said again, “You missed me so soon.”
She didn’t move or speak for so long that he started to wonder what was wrong. He was about to ask her when she suddenly turned toward him and pressed her lips against his. There was something different about the feel of her lips against his but he wasn’t in a frame of mind to ask questions.
His hand traveled down the length of her arm and found the hem of her shirt, toying with it a moment before making an upward journey against the smoothness of her stomach and the fullness of her breast. Maybe it was the alcohol clouding his ability to think straight but it took him a moment to register the fact that the woman under his fingertips wasn’t the one he was expecting.
“Megan?” he repeated, breaking the kiss long enough to try to make out her features in the darkness.
It couldn’t be Megan but the woman next to him clearly didn’t want him to know that. He was going to hell for this but he couldn’t stop. Just the thought of having Louisa under him was doing things to his body that he couldn’t control. His cock twitched, pulsing against his boxers. If he doubted his feelings toward Lou before, he couldn’t deny it now. He wanted her badly.
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed. 🙂
